What is Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure used to improve the size, length, and properties of the nose or to repair nasal deformities that impair nose function. It is carried out under general anesthesia in two popular ways; open nose and closed nose surgery.

Types Of Rhinoplasty Procedures
  • The first of them is an open rhinoplasty. During it, the incisions made during the surgery happen on the external part of the nose. The surgeon makes those in the columella, the narrow wall of the nose that separates one nostril from the other. Incisions within the nostrils can happen if the particular patient requires it. These incisions in the external part of the nose heal rather nicely and will barely stand out even when looking closely. There is also the ‘close rhinoplasty’ in which no external part of the nose gets cut. Rather, the incisions will happen inside of the nostrils. A set of handheld or head-mounted lighting helps the surgeon see while assistants hold the nostrils stretched open.A close rhinoplasty has a limited ability to change the appearance of the nose. Thus, only patients requiring a reduced set of changes to get the ideal look on their noses receive when performed as a cosmetic procedure.

It is, however, the kind of rhinoplasty that mostly happens in conjunction with a septoplasty, the surgery to correct a deviated septum. That said, a septoplasty can very well happen in conjunction with an open rhinoplasty.

WHY RHINOPLASTY
  • Rhinoplasty is one of the most preferred aesthetic operations because thanks to Rhinoplasty, a better appearance, and a healthy and easy breath are achieved. In this way, your quality of life will increase significantly.
  • If you have had an accident that damaged your nose in the past or you have congenital problems, Rhinoplasty will be your savior.
  • If the shape of your nose is not compatible with your face and if you have curvatures and asymmetry on your nose, Rhinoplasty will make your nose look compatible and beautiful with your facial structure.
  • The shape of your nose affects your appearance in many ways, from your smile to your facial expression. A better appearance will increase your self-confidence, so it will help you mentally.
  • If you have extra flesh in your nose, you may have significant problems breathing, especially at night. Rhinoplasty also solves this problem.
  • Since Rhinoplasty allows you to breathe comfortably by opening your nose, your snoring problem will disappear.
Before Operation
  • Avoid taking medicines, such as aspirin, ibuprofen combinations, anti-inflammatory, or
  •  Vitamin E, for 2 weeks before the operation.
  •  Stop smoking for two weeks before the operation to ensure fast healing.
  •  Nicotine canconstrict blood vessels, reducing the amount of oxygen and blood needed   for the healing process.
  •  Stop drinking alcohol or coffee for a week before the operation to avoid any risk of     complications.
  •  You should not eat or drink the night before the surgery.
After Operation

After Rhinoplasty, be sure not to get any nosebleed. Avoid sneezing strongly. You should avoid smoking and alcohol. You will be allowed to leave the clinic after staying under observation for a short time after the surgery.
